Some people argue that in the last twenty to thirty years there really haven�t been any new discoveries or developments in the field of hypnotherapy. Sure, some people will say that that new machines are being used, like the light and sound goggles that induce alpha waves during which positive suggestions are listened to are new developments. That�s great, but it�s still suggestion therapy, and some people do report results, but what if the batteries go dead, then what?
The list could go on, my point is this, and generally speaking what other schools are teaching today is mostly a synthesis of techniques from the 19th and 20th centuries. Here�s what we realized is the quintessentially unique experience we provide those who study here�exposure to the philosophical models and practical methods that integrate the emerging science of Noetigenesis�. This �new� science of consciousness explores how our mind (or as a quantum theorist might describe it some day, our Noetigenic Field) affects health issues in the areas of disease prevention, accelerated healing, spontaneous remission and pain management. Yet, it is non-medical. Similar to Noetic Science, it deals with our inner and subjective experience. It explains the origin of, and quality of, our emotional life, attitudes and behaviors. Noetigenic Renewal� joins many ancient eastern teachings with recent western scientific discoveries and approaches that create, support and increase our experience of aliveness. Here�s how the term developed. Nous, Noesis and Noetikos are all Greek words that point to the �action of the mind� and �inner knowing� or �intuitive knowledge�. Genic, in this context, refers to �creative� or �creating�, with one very important addition��conscious� creating. �Renewal� means �to make new again�, �to bring into the now�.
So, let�s put it all together, Noetigenic Renewal� means: From Inner Knowing We Consciously Create Now.
Ancient wisdom texts like the Bhagavad-Gita have been teaching aspects of this science of consciousness for millennia. For example, one of Krishna�s teachings for Arjuna is �Yoga Stai Kuru Karmani.� (Chapter 2, verse 48) Interpretive translation: �Established In Being, Perform Action.� Here we interpret Krishna as saying, it is from our �true self�, our superconscious level of awareness, that it is best to choose our course in life. This is Noetigenic Renewal��clearing the clutter of limiting thoughts in the mind so that we choose our life course by discovering our personal and unique life �intention�. In recent years, quantum mechanical theory points to a �Unified Field� that you and I are part of. Apparently the Unified Field (which could be referred to as the universal creative intelligence) is influenced by each of our actions and as well as our “intention�. During our work at the Academy we have witnessed this phenomenon. The key seems to be the superconscious mind, and its information relaying with universal creative intelligence. By the clearing of limiting and negative self-thoughts held at the subconscious level, we can have a conscious experience of what is left, our true nature, or our superconscious. Remember, as Krishna said, from our �established in being�. By being in touch with our inner being (our true self) choices that bring greater aliveness are supported by and brought into action by our collaboration with universal creative intelligence. In this way Noetigenic Renewal� is the science of regaining our conscious collaboration with the sacred.
